Privacy Policy
Last updated October 10, 2026
This policy explains what information SubZero, operated by an individual sole proprietor based in British Columbia, Canada ("we", "us"), collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). The short version: we collect only what's needed to run SubZero, we never ask for your bank login, and we don't sell your data.
What we collect
Subscriptions you add
The name, price, billing cycle, next charge date, trial status, status, rating and notes of each subscription you save. This is stored on our servers so we can show you your list.
A browser identifier
You don't need an account to use SubZero. We set a cookie containing a random ID so we can show your list back to you when you return. If you clear your cookies without signing in, we can't link you to your previous list.
Your email address, if you sign in
If you sign in, we store your email address so your list follows you across devices. We use it to send sign-in codes, the renewal reminders you turn on, and messages about your account or payments. We don't send marketing email.
Push notification details, if you turn them on
If you allow notifications, your browser gives us a delivery address for reminders. We use it only to send the reminders you asked for, and you can turn them off at any time.
Payment information, if you buy Pro
Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details directly. We never see or store your full card number. We keep a record of your plan, its status and renewal date, and Stripe's customer and subscription IDs.
Screenshots and text you scan
When you use Screenshot or Paste text, the image or text is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to read the subscriptions in it. We don't store the screenshot or text ourselves; we only save the subscriptions you confirm. Please avoid uploading screenshots that show information you don't want processed, such as full card numbers.
Basic technical data
Like most websites, our servers log basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and the time of a request. We use it to keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
What we don't collect
- Bank or card logins or account numbers.
- Your contacts, location, or anything outside what you choose to give us.
How we use information
- To show your subscriptions, totals, and upcoming renewals.
- To send sign-in codes and the reminders you turn on.
- To read subscriptions from screenshots or text when you ask us to.
- To process payments for Pro and manage your plan.
- To keep the Service secure, fix problems, and improve it.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Service providers
We share information only with providers that help us run SubZero, and only what each one needs:
- Railway, which hosts the app and stores its data.
- Stripe, which processes payments for Pro.
- Resend, which delivers our emails (sign-in codes and reminders).
- Anthropic, for AI reading of screenshots and text you choose to scan.
- Google, which serves the service logos you see. Your browser requests each logo using the service's website address (for example netflix.com).
- Your browser's push service (such as Google, Apple or Mozilla), if you turn on notifications.
Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States. While it's there, it may be accessible to authorities under that country's laws.
Keeping and deleting your data
You can remove any subscription at any time, and it's deleted from our database. To delete your account and everything linked to it, email us and we'll erase it within 30 days. We keep payment records for as long as tax law requires.
Security
We protect your information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed sign-in sessions, and limited access to our systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and will tell you if a breach puts it at risk.
Children
SubZero isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, and to withdraw your consent and have it deleted. Email us to make a request and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for important changes, let you know by email.
