Best subscription trackers in Canada (2026)

Many popular subscription apps are built for the US and don't work with Canadian banks. Here's what actually works in Canada, what it costs, and whether it needs your bank login.

The short answer

  • Want it free, in CAD, with no bank login? SubZero. It works on any phone or computer.
  • Only use an iPhone and want something simple? Bobby.
  • Want a full budgeting app and don't mind linking your bank? Monarch Money (billed in USD).
  • Rocket Money doesn't work in Canada. It needs a US bank account.

SubZero

SubZero is a subscription tracker made in Canada. You add subscriptions by tapping popular services, uploading a screenshot of your bank or app store list, or pasting a receipt. It never asks for your bank login.

  • Free: unlimited subscriptions, email and phone reminders before renewals and free trials, links to cancel.
  • Prices in CAD, plus step-by-step cancel guides for Canadian services like Crave.
  • Pro ($6.99 CAD/month) adds spending insights and spreadsheet export.
  • Downside: it doesn't read your bank transactions, so you add subscriptions yourself (a screenshot makes it quick).

Full disclosure: we make SubZero. We've tried to be fair to every app on this page.

Rocket Money

Rocket Money is one of the best-known subscription apps in the US. It links to your bank, finds recurring charges and can cancel some for you. But it only supports people in the US with US bank accounts, so it isn't an option in Canada.

Bobby

Bobby is a simple, private tracker for iPhone and Mac. You enter each subscription by hand and get a reminder before it renews. It's free for a few subscriptions, with a small one-time purchase to unlock the rest. There's no Android or web version, no cancel help and no email reminders.

Monarch Money

Monarch Money is a full budgeting app that connects to your accounts, including many Canadian banks through Plaid, and spots recurring charges along the way. It costs US$14.99 a month or US$99.99 a year with no free plan, and you're billed in US dollars, so your card may add a foreign transaction fee. Bank connections can be hit-or-miss for some Canadian institutions, so test yours during the trial.

A spreadsheet

A spreadsheet is free and fully private, but it won't remind you before a charge. That reminder is the part that saves money.

Questions

Does Rocket Money work in Canada?

No. Rocket Money only supports people in the United States with US bank accounts, so Canadians can't use it to find their subscriptions.

What's the best free subscription tracker in Canada?

If you want something free that doesn't need your bank login, SubZero and Bobby are the main options. SubZero works on any device and has prices in CAD, Canadian cancel guides and email reminders. Bobby is a good choice if you only use an iPhone.

Is it safe to give a subscription app my bank login?

Apps like Monarch Money connect through regulated providers such as Plaid, which many people are comfortable with. If you'd rather not share bank access at all, choose a tracker that doesn't need it, such as SubZero, Bobby or a spreadsheet.
